Important activities
The project aims to strengthen the response capacity in emergency situations and improve cooperation between the relevant Romanian and Norwegian authorities in the field of prevention and intervention in the event of a disaster, an objective achieved through the following main activities:
- Building a specialized training facility for search&rescue and Unexploded Ordnances (UXO) removal missions, as well as accommodation spaces;
- Increasing cooperation in the field of disaster prevention and preparedness between the Romanian and Norwegian authorities, as well as strengthening the capacities of staff dedicated to emergency situations: exchange of best practices, development of training curricula, workshops, training sessions for operational staff in the new training spaces;
- Awareness raising campaign to improve the public response to natural disasters;
- Two comprehensive live exercises in the field of disaster response.
